Poppy the Pig was a curious soul.
I wonder what is down that great big hole?
With that thought in mind she poked in her snout.
Oh my word, it’s stuck – I can’t get it out!

Please someone help me, said Poppy with a cry.
Luckily for her the farmer’s son was walking by.
Oh, Poppy, he said smiling, what have you done now?
I think you may need some help from Clarissa the Cow.

They tied her tail to Clarissa’s horns and gave her a big tug.
Poppy flew into the air and then landed with a thud.
She sat there feeling dazed for a moment or two,
Then got up, brushed herself down, and sheepishly said ʺthank you!ʺ

Poppy says ʺMake sure you go into things with your eyes open!ʺ
